This week was Tras Can Corps tryouts for the 2009-2010 corp! it was a good year for TCC going through people being kicked out, to people peeing there pants, to making little kids cry at party city!

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end.

We have had tryouts and decided this years corp. Hopefully it will be a corp that will change MacArthur for the hype of Fire Truck Crew to the members of the Trash Can Corp. We had a good turnout this year and had many people to choose from.

As next year rolls around, the new trash can members will be roaming the halls showing there outgoing and crazy personalities and making the stands a funner place to be!

This is also my last Blog for the year so I hope you had a fun time reading my blogs(Mr. Mountain).

A Tragedy At Hand!

Hey all music fans, I have now been inducted into a heavy metal band by the name of A Tragedy At Hand, (ATAH) for short. ATAH is a band from Irving, Tx that has been around for about a year, and was currently seeking a guitar player. Mike Gonzalez(Drummer) approached me one day asking me to join the band. At first I was not sure but as I got to know him I was more sure about being a part of the band. We had our first practice at their ex-guitarists house with bass player DJ, and Singer Nate. Although Nate wasn't able to sing because of a broken jaw it was a good practice for me to learn all the songs. The band has also picked up guitarist Eric Stewart and is looking to record its first EP in July. All we can do now is wait patiently and see what time has for ATAH!

The Night That Never Ended!!

Hey guys it's Gabe!

This week I was able to attend one of the best shows of the year! A Skylit Drive played live at The Door in Dallas! It was a night that never ended! The bands where phenomenal and the sound was superb!

I was super excited to have seen two of my favorite bands! ATTACK ATTACK! and A Skylit Drive! I was able to meet the drummer from ASD, Cory LaQuay. He was a laid back kind of guy and was fun to hang with!

I was even able to get a gourmet meal after the show! 7-11 had a wing special! With a Double gulp, the meal was perfect! Next month is full of amazing shows! just be ready!

Forever The Sickest Kids!

Last week's show was amazing!

Forever the sickest kids performed a sold out show in Dallas, Tx at the one and only, House Of Blues! The were supported by many others bands such as NeverShoutNever! , The Cab, We the Kings, and Mercy Mercedes! I was lucky enough to be backstage with the bands that performed that night! When you are a musician a whole world of opportunities and connections are at your disspense. It was an amazing experience! Sorry to say I had no camera on hand, not even a camera phone! As the night Proggresed(big word), i got anxious to meet one of my favorite bands Forever the sickest Kids! I was not able to meet them since they were running late but i did get to meet the guitar player Caleb.

Next Week's show featuring A Skylit Drive, Dance Gavin Dance, Attack Attack, and more will be even better!

So last month I bought a new Fender Telecaster. It is an amazing guitar with awesome tone and at an affordable price. Many times we focus on the music and not the instrument playing the song, but for the musicians of this world we notice.

Music gear is what makes a musician. The first sign of music gear comes from the bible. David used his harp to play songs for the king, god, and his sheep. Now a days we use gear to make music what we want it to be. Many proffessionals use expensive amps, guitars, drums, microphones, and even portable computers. However, many times we just listen to the music. We do not really see what makes the sounds that we love.

Sometimes by Escape The Fate

Going farther than just melodies and lyrics, Escape the fate has brought the edge to the alternative rock world. Escape the Fate has been a band since early 2006 and had much success since then. These Las Vegas, Nevada rockers have more than just talent they have energy and the passion to become one of the greatest bands to play. In early 2008 singer Ronnie Radke left the band due to personal problems involving the police and was arrested.

New Singer, Craig Mabbitt, took the reigns of ETP and started writing new material for the band. In late 2008 the band came out with its second full album called, This War is Ours. The band immediately grew more fame than it had with old sing Ronnie.
The first hit off the 2008 release, The Flood, has a music video and has to be one of the most known songs by the band. There second hit, Something, also has a music video that came out in early 2009.

Now that the band has settled down and started writing new music, new things are in store for this talented band from Las Vegas. You can catch them all summer long on the vans warped tour. Be sure to check this band out and support them.

I am on my knees for forgiveness this week....

Today i realized something; i don't want to be a six year senior! Maybe if Mr. Mountain has a heart somewhere in that mislead Texas Tech Heart i will be able to become my long life dream of being UT Longhorn! I have let my grades slip real bad, and i mean really really bad. I will have to do all my missing assignments and accept whatever grade Mr. Mountain will feed me with.

Until then i will do my best to get my grades to the highest potential that I can! These last few weeks have been real crazy and full of sorrow. As the break came to an end I still tried to get a couple days out of the week. But now i am going to change the subject. I would like to talk about something real important; i am talking about EXAMS!

Thats right SEMESTER EXAMS. Do you ever get stressed about semester exams? I know I do. Many time I find myself studying till 3 in the morning just to get some extra knowledge in my brain. I don't think that it is right that we take time at the end of each semester to re-memarize all the information that we have learned in a period of a semester. This makes students stress out and do even worse on the exams. I believe that we shouldn't have exams but what can I do to change this; NOTHING! I need to review for my exams and pray that god gives me knowledge to do good.

ATL!

OK so you might think that ATL stands for Atlanta!

But in the punk rock world the acronym ATL stands for the infamous All Time Low!

All Time Low is an American pop punk band from Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland, formed in 2003. They are currently on tour with Mayday Parade, The Maine, and Every Avenue on the "Compromising of Integrity, Morality & Principles in Exchange for Money Tour". There current album, So Wrong, it's Right, hit the billboards 200 and peeked out at 362. While there second single off the cd, Dear Maria, Count me in, peeked out at #87 on the billboard 100.

Since the first time i saw this band perform on the VANS WARPED TOUR, I knew that this band was going to make it real big! As for the punk rock people of this world, ATL is a band that many of them know! Girls adore them, musicians love them and the world thanks them for playing there music. Catch them the next time they hit Dallas, i promise that it will not dissappoint!

Bring me a show!

So i was not able to go to the concert this past wednesday!

things came up and was not really feeling it anyways!

Shwayze cancelled, and many people said it was lame!

This week is a heavy heavy heavy show!

can anyone say BRING ME THE HORIZON!

You might have read my blog earlier in the year by this band, it was all about there style and pizzaz!

They will be performing at the door in for worth and many hardcore screamo fans will be there to have a good time!

Not many people know that there was a big battle of the bands last week to see who would open for this metal head band, but a band by the name of Goodnight Hollywood won!

This might be a good show if all bands do there part! but as of now i am going to the irving playoff game!

Metro Station

So let me be the one to inform you that this week's concert is going to rock! More like bounce i should say!

This wednesday Metro Station is going to be at the HOUSE OF BLUES! There self title record came out in September 2007, the album had two singles released, "Kelsey" and "Control". Both of these song did not make the charts. Then came there ticket to fame. A song by the name of "Shake it" was introduced to the world.

Since then Metro Station has been hitting the charts, including MTV countdown, Airtime, and plenty of puclicity and shows.

This show has many more bands on the bill. Shwayze, Tyga, and Cash Cash will also be there playing there hits.

Shwayze, know for its song "buzzin", will be a co-headliner at The House of Blues, but Metro Staton is going to bring the heat. All these bands can be found on my Ipod, but once you listen to these jams you will want them too. Catch me next week for a summary of what happened that night and much much more!

This band from Davison, Michigan was in Dallas, Texas last wednesday!

The show was long and energetic and many hardcore fans where letting it all out!

I was one of the lucky people that got to attend this show! it was highly anticipated to many people and it didn't disappoint! The band was headlining the tour with Silverstein and many more bands also made the Show.

Bands Alesana, Escape the Fate and A Skylit drive where also on deck performing like giants.

The show kicked off at 6:30 and was over at about 12! It was an amazing!

One of the best shows I have ever been to in my short 17 years of life!

The Door continues to showcase the best in national and local artists. See the rock stars on tour now, up close, before they play at some corporate tourist attraction and you have to pay way too much. The Door is the place to see new, up and coming bands, the cool underground bands. the door can hold 1250 people and is one of the best known rock venues in dallas! the price range for tickets can be from 7 dollars to 20.

In addition to a 1,600-capacity concert hall, Dallas' House of Blues features a Southern-style restaurant, a 300-capacity performance space (the Cambridge Room) and a posh, members-only Foundation Room lounge with yearly admission starting at $2,250. Many of the mainstream tours are held at the door and the ticket prices can average anywhere from 20-40 dollars. Not including parking and the service fee that the HOB charges there customers. The Palladium Ballroom now features The Loft, a small club-size space within Palladium with a capacity of about 300. It was former Gilley's but Pallidium bought the space. being reconfigured to make room for the new Palladium Ballroom. A.E.G., the entertainment company that owns other mid-sized concert venues like the Nokia Theatre, are taking approximately 20,000 of the 91,000-square-foot space and making room for up to 2,800 fans to attend shows ranging from hard rock acts (Paramore, Underoath) to touring acts (Los Lonely Boys, Scissor Sisters, Kanye West) and even a handful of regional indie outfits. How will the low-key country folks handle the influx of tattooed, highly charged rock fans? Who knows, but it sure will be fun to watch.

This weeks concert was Amazing!
The line up was: The Morning light, The Secret Handshake, Phantom Planet, and The Rocket Summer was the headliner!
It was a great show, it was well organized and had much to enjoy!
The House Of Blues hosted the concert and was well maintained.
During intermissions you could go upstairs to the restaurant and eat a well meal and
catch up on the Texas-Mizzou game!
