The Door continues to showcase the best in national and local artists. See the rock stars on tour now, up close, before they play at some corporate tourist attraction and you have to pay way too much. The Door is the place to see new, up and coming bands, the cool underground bands. the door can hold 1250 people and is one of the best known rock venues in dallas! the price range for tickets can be from 7 dollars to 20.
In addition to a 1,600-capacity concert hall, Dallas' House of Blues features a Southern-style restaurant, a 300-capacity performance space (the Cambridge Room) and a posh, members-only Foundation Room lounge with yearly admission starting at $2,250. Many of the mainstream tours are held at the door and the ticket prices can average anywhere from 20-40 dollars. Not including parking and the service fee that the HOB charges there customers.
The Palladium Ballroom now features The Loft, a small club-size space within Palladium with a capacity of about 300. It was former Gilley's but Pallidium bought the space. being reconfigured to make room for the new Palladium Ballroom. A.E.G., the entertainment company that owns other mid-sized concert venues like the Nokia Theatre, are taking approximately 20,000 of the 91,000-square-foot space and making room for up to 2,800 fans to attend shows ranging from hard rock acts (Paramore, Underoath) to touring acts (Los Lonely Boys, Scissor Sisters, Kanye West) and even a handful of regional indie outfits. How will the low-key country folks handle the influx of tattooed, highly charged rock fans? Who knows, but it sure will be fun to watch.~PEACE
